Attended the round 3 event of Gene Romero's WCFTS in Lodi, Ca.
800 miles is quite the drive to race motorcycles. Emily rode the
250 Sportsman class and the Top-Gun class(450s). The 250 class
had a dozen other riders, so the year is going to be tough riding up
against so many good riders. And, the Top-Gun bikes have about
60-65 horsepower compared to Emily's little 250 at about 35...OUCH
She made the final in 250 and was in the Last-Chance Race for the
Top-Gun class. They took the first 4 and she finished 5th. It would
have given her one more race. Next time...
Emily was a little nervous in the 1st race, and by the time she had
finished the 5th race, she was wishing it had been her 1st race. Just
a little "rusty", 5+ months out of the saddle has an effect on the effort.
Perris on June 13th is next...And, a little closer, only 375 miles.
