WCFTS 250 Points Chase - 6/16/9 News Release
#80g - Emily Brown...Now 4th in the Series...
A finish of 4th (ahead of Michael Avila/1N) to move up to "4th in the standings" (advance of nine [9] positions) in the WCFTS 250 Sportsman Series.
Emily was under the weather (sick) all weekend.
While riding Friday night at SCFTA in Perris to get up to speed and more experience on a "Cushion" track, she also "ran-over" a fellow competitor from Arizona. She was OK , him too. Three (3) classes, lots of track time. Thanks Vince and Crew...
Saturday night was at the Perris Auto Speedway (PAS) at the Fairgrounds. Attendance was a little light, but still a lot more than she has ever ran in front of before. Maybe 300-400 spectators. And, being interviewed during the riders introduction, she was happy. A 4th in her heat, a 4th in the MAIN. A side note - the bike was hard starting all week-end. The Gene Romero TEAM are a wonderful group of guys/gals that keep the show moving right along. We were done by about 9:30. A special note about the turn 4 guy, made Emily and her team like we were the ones he was pulling for. Said she had a great focus.
We got to talk to Ron Wood and he kept watching Emily's ride. Really neat that someone with his history to take the time for her.
Also, Jim Wood of Southland offered us one of his son's 450 Hondas. Lost my A/C on my home Friday night at a $2,700. hit will pospone doing anything in this area for a while. "owell...
Lisa Brown (her Mother) and Katie Brown (her Sister) accompanied Emily and I this weekend. It sure makes it easier when a rider has extra help with filming, loading/unloading, food, navigating, etc. Saturday morning Lisa also ran 9 1/2 miles to keep her work-out pacing to race a Marathon in St. George, Utah in the fall.
And, the TOP-GUN Class (just for seat time) she again missed advancing by one spot. 8th in her heat and 8th in her Semi-Final. A 7th place finish would have put her into the MAIN where she would have gotten "TOP-GUN Points and Money"...Fame, Recognition, Glory, JK ..."Pretty Good For A Girls", especially since the othe riders have twice the horsepower. YeaHa.
For more info. Text Emily, she's always texting someone...HaHa
