#80g - Emily Brown
WCFTS
8/7/9 - Friday night - Lebanon,Or. 1/3 mile
Emily arrived after sign-up due to an accident on the freeway from
Portland. She remembered how to do her good starts, which helps
with the results in all of her heats, semis, and finals.
250 Sportsman (Points are for the entire weekend)
81 Scott "Boogie" Hampton, Jr. - Ca.
51 Emily Brown - Az.
42 Wyatt Anderson - Wa.
32 Kayle Fisher - Or.
23 Brian Bauman - Ca.
23 Zachery Lennof - Ca.
Top-Gun (450cc bikes except for Emily's 250)
Emily makes the Top-Gun Main Event for the 1st time in 2009.
Finishing 11th gives her 8 points to place her in 33rd in the
standings. She and I were both happy to just make the Main,
one more race.
8/8/9 - Saturday night - Banks, Or. 1/4 mile
We arrived a little earlier but still not soon enough, having to park in
the "outback". We just unloaded and parked the bike and gear just
behind the Pits grandstand. Emily got her "paycheck" from the
previous night and set out to make the Final again in the Top-Gun
Series.
250 Sportsman
"Boogie" keeps on doing his thing, finishing about half a lap ahead of
Emily. She continues to improve each race. It does have a negative
effect of not getting as much practice as she is accustom to. But,
without the loss of our race track in Arizona - would we have started
to travel so much - I don't think so.
Top-Gun
Emily makes the Top-Gun Final, again. She was stoked, me too.
Banks was a fast 1/4 mile "Blue-Groove" track, or should I say
"Red-Groove". Reminded me of the Red clay of East Texas. It was to
Emily's liking too with a 10th place finish, one place better than Friday
night. It gave her 9 points and moved her into 22nd place in the
standings for the year. One more "Pay Envelope". What to do
with all that money. LOL
Race weekend wrapup...
3,334 miles driven to and from at 55 mph required in California was
like walking. At 1,000 miles each way thru Ca. took F O R E V E R . . .
Emily's Great-Aunt put us up for the weekend, many thanks. Next door neighbor was a guy that fabs parts for Ducati go-fast bikes.
Bob Lamphere (sp), the local Honda shop help troubleshoot a problem with the bike. I fixed to temporarily until Steven can see it. Getting a little shy on funds, will have to sell a bike to fund the last 2 races of the series.
